Year Two? How Can It Be?
I
remember starting this blog because I always admired people who had great ideas for creating or sharing online. I thought to myself: “Hey, I bet I could do that!”. Cue a ton of research on self hosted vs hosted, and how to create content two or three strangers might even want to read. What are flat lays? Why can’t my Instagram have a super-cool-blogger-girl theme?. Why am I even worried about that shit?
I Found Out What I Wanted To Do, and I Dove In!
I
went with self hosted, because I felt I wanted to do this long-term and be able to completely control what my little corner of the internet looked like. Readers, or not. My biggest decision was deciding that I was going to write and create for myself only. If people vibed with it, that would be SO cool. Reaching out to even one person and leaving them feeling good after they read something is everyone’s goal. But if it didn’t happen I decided I just wanted to create for myself, readers (or lack-thereof) be damned.
Blog Names, Coding, Writing Tips, It’s All There
T
he internet is a wild place. I found so much information on blogging that I had to slow my roll and begin writing it all down. It took me a long time to decide what my blog was going to be named, I really wanted something that could stick long-term and something that was catchy, too! I checked all social media and made sure the name was available. That was a big one. Imagine buying a domain name only to realise its all taken up on social media. I might have made that mistake. Oops. Live and learn!
N
ext was deciding what I wanted my site to look like. Now I’ll be honest, I changed my blog layout more times than I can count and I probably will again… but so far I am happy with this one that I have. It has stuck the longest. It took me a lot of trial and error to get my blog to exactly how I wanted, so don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t happen over night. I’ve only had my most recent layout a few months. It takes time to feel out exactly what you want your site to look like. That’s a perk of it being yours, it can be whatever the hell you want it to be! How long have you been blogging? What have you learned? Share your thoughts below, I’d love to hear them!
Ahh happy blogaversary! I have been blogging for a few years now, but only really started treating it as a massive hobby this year and I soon realised how amazing the blogging community was! I learnt how supportive everyone is, and I too have changed my blog theme and layout sooo much haha, but I feel like it’s good to change it up every so often!

Yes! The community is so awesome I totally agree! And yes, it has to change and grow with you as a person in my opinion! So it’s totally normal to be changing it up haha
