So, you need some content for your blog.
W
here do you go from here? If you live where I do, the opportunity to be outside daily with no snow on the ground just isn’t happening. But, fear not! We have adapted and outsmarted this arctic tundra we call home. I use this technique all year round, but it’s definitely the most beneficial during the winter. Shooting content is a LOT of work, and sometimes you just don’t have days and days to take photos. Especially if you, like me, don’t blog full time and have a day job too. This tactic has saved me time and time again, and honestly? You’re probably already halfway to doing it. You don’t need anything extra aside from what you already have, which is the best part!
How?
S
hooting content for your blog is arguably one of the more important steps, especially if you like to have your own photos in your posts. I usually will spend all day Saturday shooting content with different people. That is when this idea hit me: Why not shoot weeks and weeks of content all in one day? (I know, I am not the first person to have discovered this, but let me have my moment). So, here’s what I do: I get up early and plan to shoot all day. Usually indoors since it’s so cold, but indoors or out, it doesn’t make a difference. And heres the kicker: I pack 4-5 outfits for one day! I shoot in all my outfits, usually in a few different locations that are close to each other. This is saving me both time and effort instead of shooting those 5 outfits on 5 different days. It takes a little more planning, and a lot more packing but aside from that? You are already heading out to shoot anyway, why not take advantage of having your photographer handy? Since I started doing this I’ve been able to pile up content for future posts.
The prep:
T
he only real additional prep is having your outfit ideas all ready to go for the day you shoot your images. I plan my outfits usually during the week before, and have them all packed and ready to go for Saturday, which is my shooting day! So, make a list of exactly what to pack so you don’t forget anything, and then you’re all set. See that? A true revelation, founded (not actually though) by yours truly. Go out there and crush that content creation. And, come home with TONS of usable images for more than one post. It’s a win/win and all you have to really do is plan a little extra. I consider that a super easy addition to any bloggers agenda!

hat do you think? Have you ever tried this? Does it work well for you, like it does for me? Let me know in the comments below!
These are great tips to set up for a shoot;)
This such an efficient way of getting loads of images! I always find it so helpful when you haven’t quite planned what you are writing about you can go and see what pictures you have. I use this method but work it slightly differently, I will brainstorm a ton of blog post ideas at once. I write down either the blog title or a prompt that will help me remember what it was I wanted to write about. So helpful when you are stuck for topics – just go back to your list!
