A blazer is a great staple item to have in your closet.
Blazers are such a multi-functional closet item, which is why I love them so much! Anything that I can wear super casually to meet friends for brunch in, and then change it up and wear the same piece to work and look professional – is a great piece in my eyes. All the blazers I have or have found in a store are soft, comfortable and fit loosely. All while still looking fitted. (Is that a thing?). When I say “fits loosely” I mean that it doesn’t feel tight or uncomfortable to wear, and for me that’s a huge plus! Personally, there is nothing worse than wearing something tight and uncomfortable all day. I’m a firm believer in comfortable, easy looks that anyone can style and anyone can wear on any given day.
Recreating looks I see on other Influencers is what really got me interested in this whole fashion blogging thing, because I’d be looking for hours at amazing outfits that were so casual and yet so chic – and when I’d go to try and recreate them, the jeans were a few hundred dollars or the shirts were way out of my price range. It didn’t take long to realize that you can still dress really cute, for a really affordable price!
Pair your blazer with your favorite soft jeans:
When I wear my blazers out for day to day things, like meeting friends for brunch or running errands – I’ll pair my blazer with my favorite soft jeans and some combat boots or even runners if the ground isn’t full of snow! You can throw on so many different shirts underneath too: I love a good graphic tee under a blazer. You can also just throw on a neutral colored tank top or t shirt! I get all my soft, plain throw on tanks at Marshall’s or Winners here in Canada. There are super affordable and are always really good quality, and super cute styles too. Plus, if it gets too warm outside you can take your blazer off and still have a totally functional and cute outfit to wear. Toggle through the items below and shop this look to recreate it!
Switch to work wear:
Blazers are easy and comfortable for work and make you look totally put together. I don’t know about you but when I have my work clothes on, and I’m in my blazer and I’m having a busy day.. I feel like a total boss. And honestly, without the blazer I don’t think the vibe would be quite the same. If you’re like me, you’ve got your cute little work outfit on and you rocking that blazer and you just feel GOOD! Plus it keeps you nice and warm if you run cold 24/7 like I do. When I’m wearing blazers for work, I like to put a cute cami underneath or even a turtleneck when its winter or I know my office is going to be cold. I wear mostly neutral tones because I find it’s way easier to switch up outfits and make new ones! A key to “staple items” is their versatility. Since neutral tones work well together in so many different situations, I just tend to gravitate towards them. The key to styling your outfits is making them your own, and it’s also the funnest part of it all!
Do you love blazers as much as I do? Let me know in the comments below how you like to style yours!
Hey there! I’m always looking for a blazer, you can never have enough is my opinion. I just wanted to say “thanks” for liking one of my blog posts. I really like your blog. It’s fresh, clean and concise. But tell me … where are you from? Somewhere in the States? I was looking at the photos and couldn’t place any of them (other than Banff, Canada). In any event, keep up the good work! Have a good year.
Thank you so much! I am from Alberta which is in Canada. I do go to Banff frequently! have a great year as well!
